Pestforce, Swansea Help Jistcourt to Save Colony of Bees

Today we have had Mark Harris from Pestforce to visit one of our sites to help us to save a colony of bees. The bees were found in a house that we are currently undertaking as part of our NPT Homes Framework.

We would like to share with you the attached video of the bees all alive and buzzing around, and we  hope this brightens up your Friday afternoon.

A big thank you to Mark Harris from Pestforce - Swansea, for helping us to #savethebees.

Works comprise of re-roofing, cavity insulation extraction, external weatherboard cladding, communal window replacements, loft insulation, replacement canopies and the removal of chimneys and other related works.

Christmas Charity Support

This Christmas, Jistcourt supported 4 local charities, with help from some very generous donations from our suppliers, including,  AIS Building Supplies, LBS Builders Merchants , Exclusive Flooring and CGL Services.

We donated 6 extra large boxes of food to 2 local foodbanks; CATCH in Ystalyfera and Newport Food Bank. The parcels included necessary items such as canned foods, pasta, rice, tea bags, coffee, milk and sugar, along with some special Christmas treats including Christmas Crackers, cakes, biscuits, chocolates and sweets.

We also helped to support Llamau, the leading Homelessness Charity for the most vulnerable Young People and Women in Wales. To this charity, we donated gifts that could help those moving into a first home, or as Llamau call them, 'Get Set Packs'. Our donations included toiletries and grooming supplies, books, games, hats and gloves, blankets and throws, store cupboard essentials along with some extra Christmas Treats.

. The final charity we chose to support this year was the Mr X Appeal. We bought presents for 5 young local children, aged between 2 and 10, who otherwise would be without this Christmas. The gifts included age appropriate toys and board games, colouring books, sports kits and equipment, pyjamas, dressing gowns, warm hats and gloves along with some sweeties and chocolates. We delivered our sacks of presents to Dawsons Estate Agents in Sketty to be delivered to the family.

We would like to thank our suppliers who very kindly helped us to support these incredible charities this year, and would encourage all to remember it is not just at Christmas time that these charities need support.

If you would like to donate, please visit the following websites to find out how you can help.

Community Benefits: Bigyn School

As part of the large external wall insulation contract being carried out in the Tyisha area of Llanelli for ‘Being Greener’, local contractor Jistcourt have recently carried out some community work for Bigyn Primary School.

On a sunny Saturday, the 23rd of April, a group of volunteers from Jistcourt pulled on their overalls, grabbed some paintbrushes and set to work on the playground area.  Paint works to the yard included a netball court, a maze, targets, a hopscotch, a mini road, pictures, shapes and numbers along with Fire Assembly points.

After clearing the area of rubbish, Jistcourt also constructed a raised pond to encourage wild life to the garden area of the school.  To enhance this area further, there will be a presentation at the school later this month by Jistcourt and ‘Being Greener’ to present bird tables designed by the children themselves.

Mr Marc Howell, Head Teacher of Bigyn Primary School, said: A very impressive looking raised pond! And the kids love the playground markings, I'm very pleased with everything done. Much appreciated”

Jistcourt would like to say a big thank you to Dulux, LBS, and AIS Insulation for helping with the project.
